Are you planning to travel internationally with your cat in the future? At Broadway Veterinary Hospital, all of our doctors are accredited by the USDA to sign International Health Certificates for pets. We can walk you through the process of what it takes to get your cat from one destination to another through the proper protocol. Please note that preparing for travel to some countries can take several months. You will need to know the country of destination, the date of departure from the U.S. And whether or not the pet will be traveling alone, as cargo or with a person in the cabin of the plane. We recommend first visiting https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel/pet-travel-info-and-guidance-document/steps-to-obtain-intl-health-certificate
to research requirements for your destination location at least 6 months prior to travel. Second step would be to make an appointment with your veterinarian at the correct time requirement of your destination location. If you are having trouble determining the timing of your appointment, please call us to help you through the process. You may download a blank international health certificate for your cat here
prior to your appointment. After your veterinarian visit you will also need to allow time for an appointment with the USDA for another signature to be completed by them on your international health certificate. We are ready to help you through this process and can answer your questions anytime.
